Dashboard

This article explains how the Dashboard serves as the central hub for organizing your Workspace, configuring settings, and managing your account and subscription.

Overview

The Dashboard is organized into five primary sections:

Open a Project

To open an existing Project, go to Dashboard → Workspace and click Open a project from the actions column at the right. This will open the Project Selection window which displays a tree of existing Solutions and their Projects in the Workspace. Select the Project to open.

Note: Container Scope

The application opens a single Project at a time, and Solutions are just logical containers for Projects.

Create a New Project

To create a new Project, go to Dashboard → Workspace and click Create a new project from the actions column at the right. In the Create a new project window, choose an existing Solution using the default Select a Solution option, or choose Create in a new Solution to set up a brand new parent container. Enter your Project name (and Solution name if creating a new one), then press Enter or click Create at the bottom.

This creates the Project along with a root State Machine defaulted to Machine1 and opens the Editor Interface. To rename the machine, select it in the Project Explorer tree inside the right sidebar panel, then edit its name in the Properties panel below.

Note: Element Naming Rules

Element names must start with a letter or underscore, contain only letters, digits, underscores, or single spaces, and avoid reserved keywords.

Organize Workspace

You can rename or delete Solutions and Projects, as well as delete all Workspace files from the Organize Workspace window. To open this window, go to Dashboard → Workspace and click Organize from the actions column at the right.

Note: State Machine Management

State Machines are not displayed in this window. A State Machine can be renamed or deleted from the Project Explorer in the Editor Interface.

Backup and Restore

To manage backups, go to Dashboard → Workspace and locate the Manage Backups card in the actions column at the right.

  • Create Compressed Backup:

Saves a single compressed archive of your entire Workspace. The default filename follows the pattern Logiop_Backup_YYYY-MM-DD.logiopbk (which can be customized before saving).
  • Restore Workspace:

Restores Workspace files and directory structures directly from a selected .logiopbk archive.

Warning: Restoring Overwrites Existing Files

Restoring clears all existing contents inside your active Workspace folder before extracting the backup. Always create a fresh backup of current work before restoring.

Change Presentation Settings

Go to Dashboard → Settings → Presentation to change the application theme and presentation settings of the designer Canvas.

  • Theme:

Choose between the available Light or Dark application themes.
  • Canvas Options:

    • Color Palette:

Sets the background and stroke colors of Canvas elements to define an overall color scheme for the diagram.
    • Wireframe:

When enabled, element backgrounds of solid Canvas elements (such as Initial Vertex, Fork and Join vertices, and Final State) become transparent for a wireframe look. When disabled, the backgrounds of these elements are filled.
    • Text Color:

When enabled, color-codes text in Behaviors and visible headers of elements. When disabled, keeps text black and white.
    • Line Thickness:

Adjusts the line thickness for element borders and Transition paths.

Note: Settings Shortcut

The Settings window is also accessible from the Settings Icon in the Utility Bar inside the Editor Interface.

Reassign Workspace Folder

Go to Dashboard → Settings → Storage to reassign your Workspace folder location on your local machine.

  • Empty Folder Requirement:

The target folder on your machine must be completely empty.
  • Optional File Migration:

You can optionally copy all current Workspace files to the new folder during reassignment.
  • Workspace Archiving & Switching:

Reassigning to a new empty folder without copying files creates a fresh workspace while preserving the old folder as a local archive.

Help and Support

Go to Dashboard → Support to access help resources or send us a support ticket.

  • Creating a Support Ticket:

Click the Need more help? card in the actions column on the right to open the support form. All updates and responses will be sent directly to your registered email address.
    • File Attachments:

You can attach relevant files or screenshots up to a maximum total size of 100 MB.
    • App Activity Log:

You can optionally attach an App Activity Log to help us diagnose issues faster. This log is generated by the embedded Logiop Pulse runtime which executes the State Machines that drive the application. Your personal Workspace designs and Project data are never included in this log.

Note: Daily Ticket Limit

You can submit up to 3 support tickets per day from within the application.

Note: Support Access Shortcut

The Help and Support window is also accessible from the Help Icon in the Utility Bar inside the Editor Interface.

Install Updates, Restart, and Reset App

Application Updates

Logiop Studio automatically checks for and notifies you about available updates. You can also manually check for and install updates by going to Dashboard → About and clicking the Check and install updates card in the actions column on the right.

Note: Universal App Architecture

A single application version serves all Editions (Basic, Plus, Ultimate). Tier features are gated by your active subscription, eliminating the need for separate installers or build variants.

Restart Application

To restart the application, reload your browser tab. If running as an installed PWA, right-click the title bar and select Reload. You can also go to the Dashboard and click Restart at the bottom of the left navigation menu.

Reset Application

Resetting the application clears all browser site data and settings for app.logiop.com, requiring you to go through initial setup again. Your local Workspace folder remains completely untouched, and you can simply select it again during setup. To reset, go to Dashboard → About and click the Reset Application card in the actions column on the right.

Note: Application Reset Scope

Resetting the application is only necessary in rare situations, such as an incomplete update.

Signing In / Out and Authentication

Logiop Studio is local-first and capable of full offline usage. Signing in is not required at startup as long as you are not signed out.

Sign-out occurs when:

  1. You explicitly click Sign Out.
  2. Your subscription needs a server refresh and the application cannot re-authenticate your license. For grace periods and offline subscription rules, see Manage Account and Subscription.

How to Sign Out and Sign In

To sign out, go to the Dashboard and click Sign Out at the bottom of the left navigation menu. You can sign back in at any time from the Authentication Window.

During sign-in, the application automatically synchronizes and refreshes your subscription and account details from the server. You can also perform a sign out/in cycle to manually trigger a subscription refresh whenever needed.

Warning: Internet Connection Required for Sign In

Signing back in requires an active internet connection. If you plan to work offline, ensure you do not sign out while disconnected.

Note: Provider Lock

The Authentication Window only displays the specific OAuth provider (Google, GitHub, or Microsoft) used during registration. Neither your registered email nor the authentication provider can be changed from within the application—contact support if you need to update these credentials.

Manage Account and Subscription

Go to Dashboard → Account to view your account details and manage your subscription.

Note: Payment Processing

All transactions are processed securely via Stripe, our Merchant of Record. All subscription prices are inclusive of applicable taxes.

New Subscription

Initial setup automatically activates a fully functional 30-day Free Trial. You can subscribe to a paid tier at any time before or after your trial expires:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Account and click the Subscribe card in the actions column on the right.
  2. The in-app Subscription Page will open, displaying localized pricing for your country.
  3. Select your desired subscription tier and click Checkout. You will be redirected to the secure Stripe Checkout Page to complete payment.
  4. Upon completing payment, you will be redirected back to Logiop Studio. The application will automatically verify with the server and provision your new subscription license.

Managing an Active Subscription

To upgrade, downgrade or cancel a subscription, or update payment details, click the Manage Subscription card in the actions column on the right to open your secure Stripe Customer Portal.

  • Upgrading:

Upgrades take effect immediately with pro-rated credit applied for any remaining time on your current plan.
  • Downgrading:

Downgrades are scheduled to take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
  • Canceling:

Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing cycle, leaving your features active until that date.

When you return to the app from the Stripe portal, Logiop Studio will automatically synchronize with the server and refresh your active license status.

Renewals, Expiration, and Grace Period

Subscriptions renew automatically using your payment method on file. Upon reaching your expiration date, the application silently syncs with the server to validate your renewal.

If a renewal fails (e.g., expired payment card or offline status), your subscription enters a 7-day grace period. The application remains fully functional during this buffer, giving you time to reconnect or update billing details. Once the grace period elapses without a successful server sync, the app enters Limited Read-Only Mode.

Note: Limited Read-Only Mode

In Limited Read-Only Mode, canvas layout and diagram export capabilities remain accessible, but editing element behaviors, properties, and execution features are locked until an active subscription is verified.

Warning: Connect to Internet Before Grace Period Elapses

To prevent the application from entering Limited Read-Only Mode, ensure you connect to the internet on or before the 7-day grace period expires so the app can refresh your license.

Warning: Anti-Tamper Security Verification

Logiop Studio includes built-in security mechanisms to detect license modification and system-clock tampering. If anti-tamper verification fails, the user will be automatically signed out and required to reconnect online to perform a server license sync.
